Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back while the other crawled in the playground. I worked 12 hour days, for months, sanding and taking wallpaper off, all while carrying one kid. Ha! The house was getting closer to completing, however the project was still a distance away. The project would require lots of time and money and shopping my favorite to furnish this home. My three sons and me were looking for the hidden treasures attending estate sales in order to ensure that my spending was under control. It was our weekly routine of walking around garage sales and auctions on the weekend and purchase a range of pieces old and newly constructed. My work days were spent at the end of the driveway, working on painting or sanding. Furniture looked this way... which is where I got my passion for restoring. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not put it down! At the local market I set up a little area and then sold a few items. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. Open houses were held in my home where one 000 people could visit over a weekend, and visitors could buy anything from the first floor. Growing Days was founded in my home. The business I was running was growing however my family was also growing. The balance between work and family was crucial to me. I wished to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days seemed like the best match. In 2013, my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. Though I was content with the direction my business took, I felt like I needed to take some time off. I decided to slow down to spend time at home, spending time with my kids. That was exactly what I needed at the time. After a few minutes, my phone began to ring. People were calling me and seeking help for the interior decoration and remodeling. They had mainly attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. Once I had a few months, I took on clients according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing several accounts and a home renovations business. If you'd told me that my venture would end up being the premise for a DIY Network show, I might have thought you were crazy. It's fun to reflect on it.
